Knockhill Trackday, May 7

Report and links to galleries of pictures from PCGB Track Day at Knockhill May 7

Here's a report from member Gilles Gardner. Gilles and his son Ethan were both at the event and took some great pictures. At the end of the item there are links to their galleries as well as Mike Raeburn's and Paul Barlow's shots....

Scotland's national Motorsport centre, Knockhill racing circuit in Fife was the venue for a Porsche Club GB trackday on Saturday 7th May 2016. Ideal weather and track conditions met a fantastic turnout of club members and clients from Porsche Centre Glasgow.
Steve Kevlin from Porsche Club Motorsport and the staff from Knockhill kicked the day off with a driver briefing emphasising that the day was about 'fun' and a gentle reminder that there was a variety of driver experience in the group. The first on track sessions were broken up into three groups to keep the traffic manageable and aiding those receiving driving instruction to get quality laps in.
After the lunch break, the open lapping sessions saw a steady stream of cars on the circuit with almost all cars staying on the grey stuff. Some spirited driving exiting the chicane onto Brabhams resulted in a minor agricultural moment for one but it was collected up quickly and back onto the circuit without any contact or damage.
The paddock was full of vehicles that did not venture out for the track day but were admired by all. They ranged from two lovely examples of early 1970's 911s to the latest 718 Boxster. In all a great day out for drivers, passengers and spectators.
