21 February: A great turnout (23 people & 13 cars) for a February event, and not a bad day - no snow to speak of despite our close approach to The Lecht skiing area.
We met up at the Treehouse Café for coffee and bacon rolls etc. on Sunday morning, and then headed off West towards and past Ballater before turning up via Bridge of Gairn towards Strathdon.
On the open climbing road near Bridge of Gairn we were "ambushed" by Stan & Petty Fong's son Pietro with his camera-toting flying drone. Here's a short video showing the results...
Some made the optional detour towards Corgarff Castle and stopped at the Goodbrand & Ross shop for another cuppa or a bit of retail therapy. Onwards then to the Kildrummy Inn for an excellent lunch. Everyone I spoke to had nothing but praise for the food & service - recommended.
More pictures from this event can be found in the 2016 Events Roundup Gallery.
A nice easy run home via Alford on the A944 back towards Aberdeen rounded off the day's fun.
