March 5: Motorsport talk at monthly meeting

Record turnout at monthly meeting?

Last Thursday, on our regular Lairhillock monthly meeting night we did something a bit different for a change. Usually it's just an informal chat over a lemonade or two, but this time we were treated to a very professionally prepared presentation on track day and competition driving by Brian Innes, a Region 2 member from Nairn.

Brian ran his road legal - and largely standard - Cayman R in the Super Lap Scotland championship and the Michelin Pilot Sport Challenge at Silverstone, as well as the Fintry hill climb during 2014 with considerable success.

With Brian, we were 27 attending - which is as many as I remember at a monthly meeting. Brian's huge enthusiasm for motorsport shone through, and some of the in-car video clips were breathtaking (Especially the run up the hill at Fintry!).

Many thanks to Brian for the presentation as well as the many hours of preparation he put into it. Also many thanks go to Donald Law at the Lairhillock for the use of their "Ostlers" conference suite, and to Tom Hail from Aberdeen Porsche Centre for the loan of their PC projector.
