Doune Historic Hill ClimbMember event

An event we have attended in the past, we are delighted to be invited back to the Doune Historic Hill Climb. Held over the course of weekend of 18 and 19 May and organised by the Lothian Car Club, the hill climb is a great event over two days nicely combined with their classic car show.

Racing starts with practice runs across Saturday and Sunday morning with the main competition on the Sunday afternoon. Recognised as one of the sports premier venues, the Doune ‘King of the Hills’ is host to several British and Scottish national hill climb championship rounds throughout the racing season. There will be some great examples of early racing cars, saloon and sports cars going against the clock in a range of classes.

We will be putting on a free of charge club display at the classic car show over both days. The Club gazebo will be up and you will be more than welcome to bring your camping chairs and picnic. Spectator tickets for the hill climb are £7.00pp with under 16s free. There is discounted admission to spectate for classic car show participants who want to watch the racing.

We ask that all display vehicles are in place for 10am each day, with the expectation to stay until 4pm if possible. You can attend Saturday, Sunday, or both day as you please.

For those wanting to attend over both days there is free camping on site. Advance notice is required please and a donation to the local Scout group that helps over the weekend would be appreciated! Alternatively there are several hotels and BnBs in Doune and nearby Callander.  The track start line and car show is in the grounds of the Scottish Antiques & Arts Centre, Doune FK16 6HG. The antiques centre will be open throughout the weekend as well.
