5 September 2021

R2 Regional Concours & Picnic

We are delighted to announce the Region 2 Concours d'Elegance will be on Sunday 5th September 2021.

The concours is a great opportuinity to bring your car our to a beautiful stately home and admire the best of what our region has to offer. A single-marque Concours like ours is a competition where cars are judged on cleanliness and condition - if you like having a sparkling car this is for you.

Even if your car is not immaculate, it is a fun day out and, with seven different classes to enter, you might find you are more competitive than you think. There is a class specifically for daily driven cars and bonus points awarded for cars with higher mileages.

The venue for this event this year will be the beautiful Mar Lodge in Braemar, where the cars will be displayed at the front of the lodge. All cars should be in place for 10.30am for judging to begin at 11am sharp. We expect the day to finish with a prizegiving at 2pm, depending on the number of entries.

There is no cafe/restaurant at Mar Lodge, therefore we would encourage members to bring a picnic and chairs.

Please Note: Due to maintenance at the bridge, there is a 6 mile detour to the lodge via Linn of Dee.

Spectators are always encouraged - so even if you do not want to take part in the Concours everyone is welcome to come along to admire the cars.

A risk assessment for this event has been developed and approved by the Club, which can be viewed on request (we'll have a printed copy on the day).We will respond to confirm your space.

There will be a small £5 charge per car to cover event costs, payable on the day when you book in at the Club gazebo. This covers stationery, materials and prizes.

As always, we are doing everything to ensure member safety at events by:

  • Members will be expected to behave as required by any Scottish Government guidance applicable on the day - including bringing face coverings in case these are needed.
  • Although social distancing is no longer legally required, we still recommend practicing common sense when meeting others.
  • There is no legal limit on the number of people who can gather in any one group.
  • We encourage members to make use of free lateral flow tests before the event. We don't ask to know the results, simply that members take responsibility for looking after each other. These can be ordered online from the gov.uk website or from your local pharmacy, free of charge.
While we will make every effort to put in place safeguards to protect members health, we appreciate that everybody's risk of attendance will be different and it is up to each individual to judge whether they feel safe in attending. We will be happy to speak to anyone individually if you would like more details.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
