We are delighted to announce our All-Scotland Concours d'Elegance, from 10am on Sunday 13 September.
The joint R1/R2 Concours is an opportunity to get along in your car to a beautiful location and admire the best of what the Region has to offer. A single-marque Concours like ours is a competition where cars are judged on cleanliness and condition - if you like having a sparkling car this is for you.
Even if your car is not immaculate, it is a fun day out and, with seven different classes to enter, you might find you are more competitive than you think, with a class specifically for daily driven cars and bonus points awarded for cars with higher mileages.
The venue for the event this year will be the beautiful Fonab Castle Hotel in Pitlochry, where the cars will be lined up in the majestic grounds. All cars should be in place between 10am and 10.30am for judging to begin at 11am sharp. We expect the day to finish with the prize giving around 3pm depending on how long it takes to complete the judging.
The event will be limited to 25 cars per Region, to keep numbers sensible.
We hope you understand we cannot allow spectators this year, for compliance with trace and protect, and to work with the restaurant capacity, only those with cars entered may attend.
Before we get on to how you can enter, let us just go over what we will be doing to ensure member safety at this event;
- A risk assessment for this event has been developed and approved by the Club, which can be viewed on request (we'll have a printed copy on the day).
- Lunch will be by pre-booked private dining only, either individually, or groups of up to three households may book a table together.
- We cannot gather in a large group outside, socialising must be in small groups and with good social distancing practiced - we advise bringing camp chairs rather than using shared seating.
- Members will be expected to behave as required by any Scottish Government guidance applicable on the day - including bringing face coverings in case these are needed.
- Judges will not enter members' cars for judging - where possible the owner should open doors/hoods/engine covers as required.
- By entering, members explicitly agree not to attend on the day if they or anyone in their household is displaying symptoms of COVID-19.
While we will make every effort to put in place safeguards to protect member health, we appreciate that everybody's risk of attendance will be different and it is up to each individual to judge whether they feel safe in attending. We will be happy to speak to anyone individually who would like to discuss further.
Now, if you have read all of the above and would like to enter the Concours, please follow the process outlined below.
Step 1
Download and fill in your entry form which includes car details, and send this back to us at: r2@porscheclubgb.com
We will respond shortly to confirm if you have secured one of the 25 spaces. Allocation will be on a strictly first come, first served basis.
There will be a small £5 charge per car to cover event costs, payable on the day when you book in at the Club gazebo. This covers stationery, materials, prizes and judges' lunches. |
