Sunday Run to Pitlochry – June 24 2018
June’s Sunday Run to Pitlochry is being organised by Jim Davidson and Robin Provan.
The meeting venue for morning coffee and bacon rolls etc. is at Inchmarlo Golf Centre, which is situated approximately 2 miles west from the centre of Banchory on the (A93), turning onto Glassel Road. Tables have been reserved for us in a bar area at 9am.
The lunch venue is at Fonab Castle Hotel, Pitlochry. The stunning Fonab Castle Hotel is nestled on the banks of Loch Faskally. Lunch is booked at the Fonab Brasserie for arrival at 12pm to be seated by 12.30pm. This should provide ample photographic opportunities as we have permission to park directly in front of the Castle.
Important: We apologise for the short notice and as dining numbers are restricted to around 24, please book early to reserve your place/s as we need to give final numbers to the venues by Sunday June 17that the latest. Route:
- Turn right out of the Golf Centre and right again along the (A93) towards Aboyne. Pass through Dinnet, Ballater, Crathie, Invergelder, Braemar and Baddoch. Continue on the A93 over Glenshee and at about 2 miles past Lair, take the B950 signposted Kirkmichael.
- Turn right on to the (A924) towards Pitlochry and then continue through Pitlochry until you reach a T junction with W H Smith directly opposite. Turn left and continue through the town. Cross the River Tummel along Bridge Road, turning right at Milton of Fonab and drive past The Milton of Fonab Caravan Park. Continue on past The Pitlochry Festival Theatre on your right. The Fonab Castle stone gates are next on your right. Parking is directly in front of the castle to the left of the main door
