The weather gods were up early to fix a glorious day for our run over the hills to Glenridding. Wall to wall sunshine made the scenery very special. The drive over the hills to Windermere was very picturesque, but the views over the Kirkstone Pass were excellent, on such a rare day for gin clear air.
Forty of us took lunch at the Inn on the Lake at Glenridding. The hotel is situated on the south edge of Ullswater and is never disappointing. This year we had the use of the main dining room overlooking the lake. Some of us made the weekend last longer by staying overnight to continue gentle hydrating before taking the drive home in the rain on Monday. Some went up mountains in the rain......
Hopefully we can repeat the venture next year, and the weather will be as kind to us.
