Sunday Run to North Wales

The first Sunday Run for 2019 saw us return to Lake Vyrwny in North Wales

The weather gods were kind to us this year as we did the drive on dry roads, and were able to sit out on the balcony at the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel and admire the splendid view.
A good mix of cars and 40 people enjoyed the day out, starting as usual at the Bison Cafe, just north of Corwen on the A5.
The 60 mile route took us over the hills with good clear views of the Welsh mountains, eventually to the south end of the lake. Being Sunday and holiday time, there were one or two caravans to reduce one's average speed a tad, and one trailer load of sheep.............
The hotel looked after us very well and after a good, typically noisy lunch, we made our way home, many taking the spectacular route over the top of Bwlch Y Groes, the high pass which leads over to Lake Bala. , and then temptingly back past the Bison Cafe!.
