The Region 5 annual dinner was held again at the Deanwater, with the room packed to capacity – we started with the pre-dinner drinks in the lounge and were soon treated to a piping hot, tasty, three-course meal, followed by coffee and warm mince pies, served up in our private dining area, and we are confident that no-one went home hungry.
Well it was certainly a lively affair, with plenty of chatter and a buzz in the air all evening, punctuated only with a raffle prize draw, which raised a grand total of a hundred and twenty-three pounds for the NWAA. Prizes for the draw, of which there were many, were kindly provided by Members and their guests, and the prizes ranged from an indoor fishing pool to a Bentley bottle stopper !
A very enjoyable moment was shared by everyone when the Trophy for the “Member of the Year”, which earlier had been surgically removed from Michelle Trafford, was presented to Debbie, Vivian and Trevor Roberts, who rarely miss a Club Night or any event in the Region.
All-in-all a memorable occasion, especially for the new Members in attendance – the gauge for the measure of success was the number of people who stayed on after the main festivities, particularly those who didn’t know when to go home until much later – you know who you are, but a sincere thank you to everyone for supporting another successful event.
