To mark this historic milestone of Porsche Production, Region 5 was invited to take part in the Stratstone Group’s celebrations involving the Wilmslow, Bolton, Sutton Coldfield, Nottingham and Wolverhampton dealerships.
For R5 the event began on the Friday evening, with 150 PCGB members and customers enjoying a barbecue and bar at Porsche Centre Wilmslow. During the evening members registered their vehicles for the 70-car convoy to Cholmondeley Castle on the Saturday. Each car was issued with 70thanniversary decals for the doors, all individually numbered.
The man with the barbecue was back at the showroom the following morning to feed the mass of Porsche owners with breakfast before the procession headed off. Similar groups of 70 cars from the other dealerships converged at the castle for a spectacular show of everything Porsche. The weather was amazing, and a great day was had by the 5000 that were fortunate enough to secure tickets.
