Meeting on the M6 we will turn off the motorway at junction 35 and take in the Kirkstone pass en route to Ambleside and Borrowdale, where lunch has been organised at the Lodore Falls Hotel as last year. A la carte menu will be available, cost per person including gratuity is £22. The hotel will keep the front car park available for the first arrivals, for photo opportunities. Luncheon was taken very recently and is still excellent!
The route will take about 90 minutes; will use some good “Porsche” roads, with fine views of the Lakes scenery. Simple map reading this year and no early start to help those who find doing anything on Sunday very difficult, e.g. certain builders
Nothing formal is arranged for after lunch. Discount rates are available for those who wish to stay overnight and the ferry trips around Derwent Water will be running as usual from the hotel pier. You can even go shopping in Ambleside…….
