Avro Visit Woodford - Joint with R18

The Avro Heritage Museum was recently opened after the closure of Woodford Aerodrome following 80 years of aircraft construction. Notable aircraft built here were the Avro Anson, Lancaster, Shackleton and the famous Vulcan Bomber.

The last aircraft built here were the BAE Nimrods until BAE Systems closed the site in 2011 and sold it on for development. The museum was built on the site of the old fire station and celebrates an important part of British aviation history.

The plan is meet up at the Deanwater Hotel from 12.00am for lunch at 12.30 before making our way to the museum which is about 5 minutes’ drive from the hotel.

For those who would just like to join us at the museum we aim to arrive at 2.00pm.

We have 30 places for lunch so please reserve yours as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The time at the museum will be around 2 hours and hopefully there will be some good photo opportunities for our cars.

Please contact Phil or Nette Graham by email to book you place:-
