Gala Dinner and Dance
March started with our annual Gala Dinner and Dance, which took place at the Aston Hall Hotel, Near Sheffield. As the event takes place in an annex next to the hotel, I am pleased to say that all those attending were able to arrive and leave in the dry!

About 40 guests attended and enjoyed a very good meal. A disco was also provided with a few guests taking to the floor. However, on this occasion, many people preferred to have ‘a good old natter’, which made the disco redundant for some of the evening. It just goes to show that you never can tell - in past years the disco has been the star attraction going on into the small hours. Many guests stayed over at the hotel and enjoyed a very good breakfast prior to departure.

Sunday breakfast
17 March was our last Sunday breakfast, which was our first visit to Arthurs Café, Ladywood Lakes, Mirfield. The event sold out quickly with over 30 people attending. All agreed it was a success.
Many thanks again to Chris and Linda Chappell who put so much effort into finding suitable places across the Region for members to meet up. Chris and Linda are now busy sorting venues for the winter ‘24/’25.
