North East Region Annual Show at Witton Castle 20th August 2017
Every year we hold a Regional Show. In recent years it has been in the tranquil setting of Witton Castle.
Porsche Centre Teesside put up the chance to win the use of a 911 GTS for a weekend in their sealed bid auction to help us raise even more money for the Great North Air Ambulance. With this bid included, the final sum from the show finished on a fantastic £1011.35. Specialist Cars of Malton, Lloyds Bodyshop, DDB detailing, Gunther’s bratwurst stall & other trade stalls all helped make the show a success. We were also happy to have PCGB membership secretary Chris Sweeting on hand to answer queries, along with 2 Club Directors supporting the event.
We had some beautiful Porsches enter our Concours competition, with first place in the highly competitive R3 Class going to John Ashcroft in his 944 S2, second place to Matthew O’Keefe in his early 924, and third place Ian Nichol in his 964. In the Visitors class, first place went to Martin Newis’ Supersport, Joe Kidd's 930 in a close second and finally Phil Ward with his 996.
To end the day, as our volunteers were unwinding, we were joined on the field by a hot air balloon team, what better way to relax after a long day than with friends, and cake, watching a hot air balloon launch. Thanks to everyone who came along, we hope to see you again next year.
