Combined Region Meeting and First Drive of the 2015 season.
Marking the Saint Patricks ‘Day’ start to our drive season, this year the focus of our first day out will be a visit to the Slemish Mountain area, the legendary first known Irish home of Saint Patrick, located in County Antrim. According to legend, following his capture and being brought as a slave to Ireland, Patrick worked as a shepherd at Slemish Mountain for about six years, from ages 16 through to 22. But don’t worry, for R27 Members there will be no climbing required, and the only shepherding involved will be getting everyone to Massereene Golf Club for Lunch!
10:00-11:00:Sprucefield Shopping Centre Lisburn for Coffee and depart at 11:00 to join members in Carrickfergus.
10:30-11:30: Alternative Meeting Point: Clarion Hotel, 75 Belfast Road, Carrickfergus, BT38 8PH for Coffee.
Both groups depart from Carrickfergus and travel via Ballynure to Slemish for photo opportunity, and onward to Massereene Golf Club, 51 Lough Road, Antrim BT41 4DQ for Lunch at 2pm.
