Arriving a little late from the Pirelli Tyres event, most of the 500 guests had departed but we were in for a treat.
The Sportscar Together day ran from 10am to 4pm. Hayley Hayward, Marketing Manager told me that 95% of the guests arrived in the first hour and departed (after they had eaten ALL the pulled pork and ice cream) by 1pm.
My group witnessed oodles of supercars heading south on the A12 and when we got to the Porsche Centre the massive car park was all but empty. However we had the space to wander round and see the show exhibits:
356 Coupe
911 2.7 RS
924 Le Mans (rebuilt by Colchester in the inter-centre competition)
Boxster race car (current inter-centre challenge which will race again at Brands on the Porsche festival weekend)
Carrera GT
918 Spyder
911 R
991.2 GT3 RS
The bonus was that Richard Ennifer, Sales Manager decided to get all these cars (except the 924) out for a group photo. He said that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity! The Carrera GT with its screaming V10 engine got everyone's vote for best engine noise.
We also enjoyed watching a very good pair of race simulators, considered the pedal cart Grand Prix but decided we were a little old, and picked up some commemorative balloons and a tie pin.
