The Essex Region (R11) extends from North London and up to the borders of Suffolk, parts of Hertfordshire to the west, with the east of the county being bordered by the longest coastline of any county in England. Our region caters for a ‘broad church’, both in terms of members as well as Porsche cars, with every model from 356 through to modern 911s, Boxsters, Caymans, Panameras, Cayennes and Macans.
We have a very extensive range of activities, extending from country drives, visits to stately homes, museums, sailing trips, visits to classic car restorers, wheel refurbishers, gourmet weekends to France, long weekends to locations in Europe and the UK, and our grand barbeque, typically attended by three hundred car club members from all local car clubs. Within our Region we have two Porsche Centres, Porsche Centre Colchester and Porsche Centre East London, as well as independent Porsche specialists, such as Autostrasse, HP Motorsport, Carrera Engineering, Andy Prill and Howard Watts.
Our monthly meetings are at Rivenhall Oaks Golf Centre, Witham on the second Tuesday of each month. The Golf Club provide inexpensive meals and many members arrive shortly after 7p.m. so as to eat before our meetings start at 8p.m. At our meetings, we discuss past and future events, and during the winter months we usually have a guest speaker or demonstration, a quiz or photographic competition. During the summer months, most members like to be outside ‘kicking tyres’ and enjoying the camaraderie of Porsche ownership. Ours is a very social region and new members are made very welcome. If the weather is bad, you do not have to come along in your Porsche if you do not wish to do so, although we love to spend time viewing one another's cars. Whatever the age or model of your Porsche, we will be pleased to see it, but most of all we are pleased to welcome you as a member, or prospective member, to our meetings.
We aim to keep members in the Region updated through our monthly email newsletter as well as provide regular updates on our forum pages.
