Maldon show 2018

This year's Maldon show was the hottest in memory. Some of us hid for most of the day under the gazebo!

This year's Maldon show was the hottest in memory. Some of us hid for most of the day under the gazebo!

So firstly, let me thank Frayz and Mike for putting that contraption together from a set of slightly broken poles.

Also thank you to the 18 cars and their owners who appeared on the day which were, in age order:
924 Auto - Katie
944 Auto - Katie (somehow she brought two cars)
911 3.2 Supersport Cab - Michael
928 S4 - Graham
964 C4 Coupe - Paul
964 modified turbo - Lee
996 C2 - Barry
986 Boxster - Mike O
996.2 C2 - Joe
996 Turbo - Mike K
986 Boxster S - Kay
997 C4S - Graham
Panamera 4 - Justin
Cayman R - Glyn
Cayman R - Frayz
981 Boxster S - Keith
Macan Diesel S - Greg (yeah, I had to carry the gazebo)
991.2 GT3 - Mark

Thankyou Mark for our leading R11 flag photo and the aerial shots from his drone.

As usual there were some interesting other exhibits at the show. I found the colours on the Mystery Machine very convincing, even if the van was more of an A-Team than Scooby-Doo!

How rare would a Fiat Strada cabrio be nowadays? Probably fewer of them than the Ferrari Dino which was parked near to it. The three wheeler Grinnall was quite eye-catching in orange, but it was nowhere near as orange as the wrapped Mercedes AMG SLK which claimed to be a V12 Biturbo!
