Burnham chip run

A drive around the Dengie Peninsula followed by an old-fashioned supper.

Thank goodness that Abdul at Sauda Village takeaway was prepared to accept an order for 36 chip dinners - otherwise this event would not have worked. We started our drive from South Woodham Ferrers at 7pm and took the two rivers (Blackwater & Crouch) route to Burnham-on-Crouch.

When we arrived everyone unpacked their chairs and their tomato ketchup. Soon a Range Rover Sport arrived with 4 massive bags of Saturday night feasts - all labelled up with surnames of the recipients. We sat and chatted until the gnats started to bite and the light dimmed.

It was a great evening out. Especially so because we saw lots of new members for this inaugural run. If there is a free spot in the diary and the right weather we will do it again.
