The 2018 Essex WOTY (weekend of the year) will be to Burgundy in France. Traditionally we have a WOTY every other year in continental Europe. It's a chance to find some great driving roads and explore the culture in our destination. Read about a previous foreign WOTY here.
In 2018 we will be staying at the rather nice Chateau de Gilly in the Nuits-St-Georges area - from Thursday 13 September to Sunday 16 September.

As Gilly is about 5 hours south of Calais by Autoroute I will be recommending an overnight stop on 12 September near Reims as well as the three nights in our destination hotel. I will prepare a driving route from that area down to Burgundy. Details of the recommended stop-over hotel and channel crossings will be confirmed to applicants.

Deposit requirement:
I will try to confirm that you have a place or not fairly promptly. If I allocate a room to you I will ask for a 100€ room deposit to be paid to me before the end of December. In the event that you later cancel your room I will try to allocate it to someone else and recover this deposit.
I will pass your deposit and contact details to the hotel. The hotel will ask you directly for a further deposit for your stay at the beginning of August 2018. This deposit will non-refundable.
