2023 Porsche Club Calendar of Events

Our first schedule of events for 2023

In my welcome message earlier this week, I announced we would be publishing our event schedule for the year ahead, and I’m pleased to say that the first draft is ready.

This is not an exhaustive list by any means, and we are looking to expand it further. In particular, this year marks the 100-year anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and we are hoping to be able to bring members together to enjoy a live stream of the greatest endurance race there is.

Without further ado, our schedule of events as it currently stands is outlined below. Remember to keep checking our Events Calendar online for more days out with your Porsche as they become available!

The Classic 997/987 Tour of Britain
At the start of this year, Porsche Classic, which aims to preserve and maintain legendary vehicles and the latest classics, announced they will be supporting the 997 and 987 Boxster and Cayman. To celebrate, we have a new series of events at Porsche Centres to look at some of the support and new products now available to these vehicles.

Join us for breakfast, followed by a technical talk (if you wish to attend) at Porsche Centres around the UK to mark this special occasion. Starting in Leeds, these visits will be followed by organised drive outs, and aim to bring together the 997 and 987 community to enjoy the ‘classic’ vehicles that we now have. You are welcome to attend from any Region to any meet, and you can attend as many as you wish.

The tour dates are as follows:

Leeds – 1 April – Register Here
Glasgow – 22 April – Register Here
Bournemouth – 13 May
Swindon – 17 June
Hatfield – TBC

Horsepower at Thoresby Hall – 31 March - 2 April
This is another new one for us and something we are really looking forward to. Combining the power and interest of real horses with those of petrol and battery generated cars.  This will be an equestrian event with a difference – a car themed difference! The event will be held at the magnificent Thoresby Hall in Nottinghamshire and will be supported by a gathering of supercars, including Porsche. This is not exclusively a Porsche event, but will be a celebration of horsepower, in every sense.

More details including the link to book are available here.

April Factory Visit
Our extremely popular Factory Visit in April is still looking to proceed, albeit in a slightly different format to what was previously advertised. With the support of Porsche, we are hoping to secure visit slots and we will notify interested parties once these have been confirmed.

Porsche Club @ The Motorist – 21 May
After the highly successful visit to the Motorist in Yorkshire last year, we return for a 2023 extravaganza! This stunning petrolhead venue hosted hundreds of cars last year, with displays, guest speakers and attractions, this is sure to be another great event. Perfectly situated in the heart of Yorkshire, The Motorist is the ideal venue for a full day of expert talks, tasty food and of course their famous northern hospitality.

With a coffee house, licensed bar and restaurant, and an onsite store with something for everyone, The Motorist is designed very simply as a place to go and a destination if you appreciate vehicles of every variety. We hope you can join us and build on the success of last summer’s event at this fantastic venue, which saw over a thousand Porsche enthusiasts enjoy a day full of Porsches and entertainment. Tickets are priced at £15 per person for Club members includes either a breakfast roll on arrival or hog roast at lunch as well as a tea, coffee or soft drink. Book yours here.

May Founders’ Dinner
In honour of the original founders of Porsche Club Great Britain, we are looking to bring together as many of the pioneering group as possible. The passion for what was then a small niche manufacturer has turned into the largest car club in the UK, and the object of their enthusiasm has become one of the most successful car manufacturers in the world. The date and venue are still to be confirmed, but we have much to thank this group for and are looking forward to wining and dining with them. You can register your interest for more information here.

The Cotswolds Rally – 30 July
The Cotswolds Rally is always a Club favourite and this year will see the 20th edition of this popular road run. Enjoy a three hour guided tour to a secret destination in what is, arguably, one of the most beautiful Regions in Britain. Details are still being finalised and booking will be available shortly.

Brands Hatch Festival of Porsche – 2-3 September
The Brands Hatch Festival of Porsche returns this year for a spectacular weekend of track action supported by the Club. Our Motorsport Division has a full Sunday of racing at one of the most picturesque circuits in the UK. As well as racing from the various Club Championships, you can also look forward to infield parking, special anniversary displays and vendors. Tickets are not yet available but will be in due course.

Porsche Classics at the Castle – 17 September
Porsche Classics at the Castle is returning to Hedingham Castle this September for the celebration of road and competition models built between 1948 and 1973. Join us at this stunning venue that will be hosting an array of some of the best classic Porsches and a special celebration of the 75th anniversary of Porsche. With its magical backdrop it will be a vehicle display not to be missed! Tickets are not yet available but will be in due course.

NEC Classic Motor Show – 10-12 November
We love attending this iconic car show and so once again we will have a presence at the NEC. Our impressive stand will host a wonderful selection of cars assembled by the local region. As with previous years, discounted tickets will be made available and you can look forward to a warm welcome from our volunteers on the stand.

Porsche Christmas at Silverstone – 10 December
A Christmas event at a petrolhead paradise, what could be better? Join us at the world-famous Silverstone circuit for a Christmas extravaganza and an amazing display of vehicles. Following on from the success of last year’s event at Bicester Heritage, we are once again combining all things Porsche and all things Christmas! As the well as the fabulous Porsches being showcased you can look forward to talented local traders offering a Christmas market as well as sampling some delicious food from some of the region’s most popular food vendors.

I would like to take this opportunity to public say a thank you for the many positive messages I received following my message on Monday, they were very much appreciated and a good indication for the future of Porsche Club GB.
