I’m delighted to report this month on the resounding success of the inaugural Porsche Sale which took place at Silverstone Circuit on the 25th October in conjunction with Porsche Club GB.
The sale was our first marque-specific event and I couldn't have wished for a better outcome. As ever, the sun shone at Silverstone where more than 300 Porsche enthusiasts, including a significant number of Club members, joined us to bid on nearly sixty high-quality classic and modern Porsches and related automobilia.
An amazing 70% of cars were sold to new owners, yielding a total sales value of £2,747,000. The fantastic weekend event also included a track day on the GP layout of the circuit as well as an open day and lunch at the Porsche Experience Centre. The partnership between Silverstone Auctions and Porsche Club GB continues for next year and I’m pleased to announce that we have renewed our commitment to The Porsche Sale in 2016, which takes place on 15th October next year.
My personal highlight from the auction was a 1973 Porsche 2.7 RS Touring. You don’t need me to tell you how special these cars are, and this particular example was optioned with some very special driver-focussed upgrades including a limited-slip differential and Recaro sports seats from the factory.
This sale was a true testament to the quality of cars consigned by both Porsche Club GB and the Silverstone Auctions team - representing what we feel to be the very best cars available on the current market, and the results just go to show the ongoing power of the Porsche marque.
The Silverstone Auctions team is a hive of knowledge – with a handful of racing drivers, restorers and automotive photographers, all on hand to offer support and information, should you need them.
