2023 Champion

The Porsche Club Motorsport Championship with Pirelli season had an unexpected end when a power cut at Snetterton meant the final race of the season could not be run, and final championship positions thus not released without meticulous checking of the regulations and taking the advice of Motorsport UK. That meant that Paul Simpson was announced as class two and overall champion sometime after the final event, becoming the first Boxster Cup champion, a title he won in 2020, to step up and claim the Club championship as well.

Simpson who was handed his award by Sam Hignett and received Stand 21 bespoke boots, and a Porsche watch courtesy of Porsche Club Motorsport at the end of year awards. “It’s been a great season,” said Simpson, “highlights were a double win at Brands Hatch on the Grand Prix circuit, the Festival of Porsche was brilliant, and overall, just some great racing.

“We had some low points, including engine issues in the first two races, but I’ve learnt so much this season, and I love racing with the Club, such a friendly bunch of people, everyone helps if they can. I now have the challenge of moving to class one next year, already looking forward to it.”
