Whilst preparing to refit the oil tank in my 1974 restoration project, I took the opportunity to test the level sender. There should be a variable resistance between the two terminals, which will change as the float is moved between low and full oil levels. However, unfortunately, I found that there was an open circuit between them, meaning that there was a problem.
