We’ve been liaising with Kieran Line of Scenic Car Tours with regards to arranging a holiday next September to the Loire Valley. We can’t really call it a WOTY as it will be longer than the average weekend, but we just wanted to see what feedback/interest we get back from you. If we can get 8 – 10 cars booked, the date can be exclusive to our Club as no-one else has booked that date yet!!

OPTION 1.
10th - 14th September. Dover to Calais (other routes available on request). 5 days/4 nights in the Loire Valley – £449 per person sharing car/room (single supplement additional £200).
OPTION 2.
9th - 14th September. Portsmouth to Caen or St Malo in 2 berth cabin (upgrades available on request) with overnight sailing out and evening sailing return £629 per person sharing car/room (single supplement additional £300).
8th – 14th. Enjoy a great 7day/6 night break to beautiful Honfleur and the Loire Valley. Spend 2 nights and a full day in the pretty maritime town of Honfleur and then 4 nights in the Loire Valley. £649 per person sharing car/room (single person supplement additional £300).
We were concerned about the 340 mile trip at the end of this holiday to get from the Hotel in Amboise back to the Ferry port to return home. Kieran suggested we have a relaxed drive from the Hotel to Caen
(190) miles and then sail at 2300 hours back to Portsmouth arriving 06.45 the next morning, giving us a whole day to drive home from Portsmouth. Cost of cabin at todays prices with Brittany ferries would be £260 per car with 2 passengers including crossing and large inside cabin (no climbing required). Single travellers would need to pay £260 also. This would add one extra day and night to this holiday and the cost would increase to £779 per person. (Single supplement additional £430.)
HOTELS: The Mercure Hotel in Honfleur is 5 minutes walk from the Harbour and town centre, looks lovely with good reviews. Also the "Hotel Le relais des Landes” in Amboise in the Loire Valley is a XV11th Century Manor House with gardens and pool looks very pretty, again with good reviews. Check them out on the web.
INCLUDED in the cost - buffet breakfast each morning and dinner on the first night only, plus admission to the Chateau Chennonceau. It doesn’t matter which holiday is chosen, we all end up at the same Hotel in Amboise. We would receive a detailed road book with maps, great drives and local attractions, commemorative tour rally plaque, and complimentary parking at the Hotels.
PAYMENT: – depends which package we opt for, but “worse case scenario” would be 20% deposit up front with balance due 10 weeks prior to departure.
All we ask if that you check these options out, and if you would be interested please let us know asap and then we will request Kieran of Scenic Car Tours puts a hold on rooms etc for us. On a personal note Tony and I are going for the Honfleur/Loire Valley package, we think it would be a lovely holiday. Hope some of you will join us.
