Dash blower vent fix

Noticed a piece of plastic in the centre right hand vent and a small piece of wire. The vanes wouldn't move up and down.
Had a look on line and apparently it is a common issue with boxsters!
So I thought I would show how I fixed it.
1. Remove the silver trim using thumb nail. Just so it doesn't get damaged as a bit of force needed to get the trim tools in.
2. Using Plastic trim piece removal tools push between the dash and the plastic vent. Opposite side to the thumb wheel in 3 places.
3. The fork piece pushes in the back of the slider. Will only go in one way, there is a small notch on its side.
4. I lost the metal clip spring some how!! Looked everywhere so I made one from stainless locking wire.
5. Superglued it in so it wouldn't come out again!
6. Press the grill and slider assembly back into the vent ensuring the fork locates over the centre vane with the middle part missing.
7. click the trim ring back...jobs a good un!

Forum only allows one picture per post, unless you host them externally.

To stop them appearing twice just do the ‘attach image’ step but don’t insert the image into your post.

I hope that makes sense?

Nope either nothing or as above!

It doesn't show the image in the preview! Just the icon. Now I'm sorted. Cheers
