Passenger Door Mirror Problem

The passenger side door mirror only works left to right and will not work up and down, when using the mirror control button. The driver’s side mirror works perfectly, so the control button on the driver’s door is working as it should.

Can anyone help me assertion what the fault is and how to rectify it please, without the need to visit a Porsche Centre.

All help is fully appreciated.

Thank you.

Lynn.

This is fairly common the controller usually needs changing, it's easy to do, it just pulls straight out. But first pull it out and check that all the wires are plugged in and give them a wiggle. Like wise might be worth unscrewing the door card and checking that all the wires are connected properly. You would be surprised how many cars wires have been cut when removing mirrors and taped backed together.

All the above are easy fixes with a screw driver and instructions easily found on internet.

Thank you for your help Gordon, it is very much appreciated. I will give all of your suggestions a try. Is the controller in the door mirror housing or in the passenger door?

Kind regards

Lynn

If you pull out the switch/directional mover or prise out with a screw driver (protect the door vinyl with cardboard or a cloth) the wires are plugged into it.

Sounds like one of the motors has packed up, there are two in the mirror, one for up/down, one for left/right
