Porsche Club Awards, Friday 21st September In 2018 Porsche Club will stage a stand-alone National Concours d’Elégance at Ragley Hall, close to Stratford-upon-Avon. The Concours will form part of a weekend which begins on Friday evening at the Welcombe Hotel where the Club will come together to celebrate some of its hardest working and longest standing members. The black tie dinner will have a capacity of 120 guests and will once again feature peerless racing raconteur Derek Bell as our guest speaker. The evening includes a three-course meal, table wine and a welcome drink. See here

I know our R3 members enjoy nothing better than a great a knees up and a weekend away, so I thought I would gauge the interest in attending this.

Tickets are now available for the fantastic awards dinner which are sure to sell out fast, so don't delay if you would like to sample our Club's hospitality at it's finest, we can sort nearby hotels at a later date or of course you are welcome to book your own.

I know a lot of us attended the Concours d’Elégance last year and enjoyed the easy going atmosphere at this event, even though most of us were extremely tired from our drive back from France.

Leaving Friday morning for a casual drive down, stopping for lunch mid way, we aim to arrive at our chosen hotel early afternoon to allow anyone wishing to attend the awards dinner plenty of time to get their glad rags on and head to the venue, as for those who don't there will be plenty of time to settle in for a relaxed informal evening and let your hair down prior to visiting the show at Ragley the following day.

There are lots of hotel options around this area to suit every budget so let me know if you choose to book your seat at the awards dinner, all members are of course welcome, or alternatively you may like to simply take this opportunity to join up with other like minded enthusiasts, members, friends and Club Officials at Ragley Hall in support of what promises to be yet another great National Club event.

Which ever you choose we hope to see some of you there,

Deb & Greg

Done. I'm quite partial to a Black Tie Dinner. I've booked a ticket for myself since Linda will be abroad at her sisters place.

I presume all R3 folks will be seated together? I can talk about hotel reservations with you later Greg.

How many were from R3 last time?

John

We had a great turnout for the show last year John. Unfortunately none of us made it to the dinner the night before though as we were heading back from Le Mans.

That said, we had a few members come down to meet us at the show on the Saturday which easily made 30+ on the day from R3, although I think our French costumes caused quite a bit of confusion.

This is a nice relaxed event with relatively little commercial influence and members shouldn't expect the same kind of activities on offer as at the likes of the Silverstone Classic it's just a great chance to chill out and make new friends on the lawns of Ragley Hall.

Last year I think most of us also had the opportunity to also meet and chat with Derek Bell, a real gent who was about all day signing autographs, one of which now hangs proudly on my office wall. I am pleased to say he will be once again the guest speaker for 2018.

Tickets for the 2018 Porsche Club Concours d'Elégance need to be purchased separately and can be found here
