Can some one please tell me why there are no Sub Groups in the Boxster group
I have been requesting information about Relays and Fuse positions (Great Post on Fuses in Caymen)
I have also just done a repair where the roof cover comes over the plastic side covers which is an easy and FREE fix would like to post this
Is this a moderator problem

Porsche 996 Is incredible with lots of info like Porsche Parts List (PET)

The Caymen has lots (Many of which are applicable)
Sorry to Moan

It appears to me that generally speaking the PCGB forums are not used a great deal, considering the number of club members, whether it be the model specific, region specific, or other pages.

In the case of the Boxster I'd guess that there are other more popular but non-PCGB forums/websites which people use (e.g. boxa.net?).

Have posted my question on BOXA.NET
If you look at the 996 Forum run by Richard Hamilton there a hundreds of useful technical guides (Including access to PET Parts List) (LOts of which apply to the 986 front end)
Even the Caymen has some technical info but, of course, a lot different
Surely there are more Boxsters aboutthat 996s

Richard,

Unfortunately I think that Andrew's correct about these forums not being used that much and that you may be better asking your questions elsewhere.

I'd add that Steve Winter - the Boxster Register's Technical Advisor - owns Jaz Porsche ( http://www.jazweb.co.uk/ ) and is a very experienced and reliable go-to source of information. He can be contacted at steve@jazweb.co.uk

Jeff

Thanks Jeff for adding Steve Winter we have 2 technical guys who can be contacted from here with a font of knowledge.
Steve Winter as mentioned not only can he answer questions he has his own Porsche garage and can fix issues if you so wish and not forgetting our very own Nike Pike who is always happy to help out again lots of technical knowledge.
The 996 s are very lucky having Richard Hamilton who is a mind of information.
If you look at the Boxster Register section there is Steve's Q@A with many frequently asked questions being asked and replied to
This is being updated every time a query comes in and being built up on this basis.
Cliff.

I think that forums like these have perhaps largely had their day because there are marque and model specific groups and so called clubs on Facebook. Not everyone is a fan of Facebook but it is the site of choice for very many Porsche owners. The ’audience’ has few boundaries around the world therefore there is rarely a question that doesn't elicit responses albeit many of them flippant and sometimes questionable.

Richard,

I don't think that any coerceion was involved getting Steve Winter on board..! So feel free to contact him.

JUst feel it is a bit of a check to ash professionals. But if they are willing

So will email

I mainly use Boxa-net - Richard Hamilton is active on that forum, just ask your question and and tag him in the message with the '@' sign.

Hi Richard
Steve Winter is a club member and a Boxster owner himself.
As I know he has a vast knowledge of all things Porsche I asked if being register technical adviser was something that he might like to do and he was more than happy to help fellow members as he has such a passion for the marque.
Regards
Tracy
