Air Recirculation Switch in Heater Control Panel

Hi All,
I am new to 993 ownership, so firstly I would like to say Hello to everybody.
I bought a 1995 manual coupe a couple of weeks ago and the air re-circulation switch in the heater control panel does not seem to be working.
This is a non AC system. My question is when the switch is pressed should there be an indicator light that comes on within the switch as there is no light coming on when pressed. Also how do I know if the flap is closing and opening to either shut off or let in the fresh air.
If there is somebody who has a non AC car, could you check your re-circulation switch to see if your switch light comes on when pressed.
Thanks Phil

Gert’s site is really good, I’ve used it many times and got him to repair my climate control unit. But as a quick response, I don’t believe there’s a light on the air recirculating button- when it’s pushed in it’s recirculating, when it’s not it’s not. To check whether it’s working turn the ignition on and push the button, you should hear a distinctive thud as it opens and again when it’s turned off.
From memory it’s worked by a vacuum, so if it’s not working may just be a disconnextend pipe.

Apologies, I did mean Tore, Gert is at Carnewal, which I have also used. Both are very good to deal with.
