Targa top renewal and Mechanic - Surrey area

Hi all,

I'm new to the Club, so am posting this in the hopes that someone can help me out a little;

I have an '89 Targa C2, whose Targa roof is a little....care-worn, shall we say (!)

Can anyone recommend anyone in the Surrey area to have it recon'd?

One other thing; I had a complete Engine/Flywheel/Clutch rebuild about 11k miles ago, so it is due for a decent service. Needless to say, a main Porsche Dealer is nearly the same price as the car to have this done (!), so if anyone knows of a really good air-cooled Mechanic in the Surrey area, that would be magic :)

Many thanks in advance and roll on sunny days...!

Chris

Back of Porsche Post for area/county independant Porsche specialists for servicing et al.

You could contact Melvin Spear 964RS or Des Surdee Modified Register as they live south of London and both heavily into 964s. Contact emails and phone numbers in PP.

I’d be weary of a company with Surry in its name, paid a small fortune to have an original skin fitted to mine, as old one had a tiny tear in it, leaked far worse and front edge was atrocious, noisy, took it back and they made it even worse, and gave up with them after a year of being fobbed off.

any one know anyone in the south west that know what there doing with trim & roofs

I use GT One in Chertsey for my servicing, they service (and sell) classic Porsches. They are thorough and work has been to high standard.
