Hi All
I have been asked to supply a car for Modern Classic magazine.
They are running a feature on affordable Porsches and are looking for a 986 2.7 preferably in a bright colour.
The photo shoot will take place before the middle of March and is anticipated to be filmed in North Yorkshire although this has not been finalised.
Expenses will be covered and members must be willing to allow Jethro Bovingdon of Classic Magazine to drive the car which will be fully insured.
If you can help please contact me ASAP

Hi Tracy,

I have an 02 986 Boxster S in Guards Red which is very tidy on 57000 miles and live in East Yorkshire, so North Yorks is very near. i Would be interested in this shoot, self employed so time off is not an issue. I have images of the car if anyone is interested?

Kind Regards Steve Todd

Hi All

After Steve very kindly offered his car, the magazine has now said it is looking for a 2.7 and so the hunt it still on.

Thanks Steve for the offer of your lovely S and here's to next time.

" Hi Tracy , are you still looking for a 986 for the photo shoot ? i have a Zanzibar red 2001 2.7 , I'm based in Newcastle so a trip down to

N.Yorks would be ok for me ,

it would be nice if Tracy responded to all 986 Boxter joiners ie from two years ago but it never happens.

There should be more technical support for the 986 s but that never happens. it all seems to be about the 981 which is a totally different car.

Glynn,

If you have a specific 986 query then give the Clubhouse a call on 01608 652911. We'll work with the Register to answer the question or point you in the direction of someone who can. Chris Sweeting, the Club's Membership Secretary, owns a 986 and is always happy to help. The Register, unusually, has four variants of the model to cover and I know Tracy and team try hard to ensure each model is given fair representation.

Look forward to seeing you soon.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Glynn.

I tottaly agree with the comments Chris has made .We as a Boxster team actually spend more time on answering 986 enquiry's more than other variants.

If you read up on past Porsche posts you will see over the years each variant of the Boxster range has been covered.

Even now as we speak the 986 is very prominent with the 986 Boxster race car. Tracy is working along side OPC and going to see the car at Porsche to bring you all first hand knowledge on how a race car is born and raced.

I hope you will come along to one of the 986 race meets to support the model .

If you have any technical questions feel free to ask if we are unable to answer any questions we have a great technical support team such as Nike Pike and Steve Winter of Jaz who are both very knowledgeable in all things Boxster.

Hope that helps.

Cliff .

Hi, I have been passed details of this request by our RO. I live in Bolton and have a Guards Red 986 Boxster 2.7 with 65000 mile which I purchased 12 months ago. It is a basic spec with no A/C or any electronic driving aids. I am retired so I should be available to fit into most schedules.

Best regards,

Graham

Hi Graham

I am waiting to hear from the mag to see if they have allocated the space from the cars I sent over. If you can send me your email address I will forward your details to the editor and hopefully he will contact you if he still needs a car.

Regards

Tracy

Hi Graham

Thanks for your details.

I have spoken to the editor at the magazine and he has now asked for a yellow car ideally with no modifications. I will still send your details over to him incase he can't source a car. Thanks for your patience and co operation.

Regards

Tracy
