Advice for top end rebuild

I am planning to get a top end rebuild and G50 gearbox overhaul this winter. I live in Dorset and I am considering Marque 21, Canford Classics and Silvertune. I would be pleased to hear from anyone that has used these companies for their top end rebuild and what the experience was like. Not only is it a lot of money to spend but the car is getting quite valuable now so I want to make the right choice. I would also be happy to hear about any other recomendations.

Many thanks

Ian

Hi Ian
I have an 88 3.2 Carrera Sport, and also have a 92 944 S2 with 66k miles, which was serviced and maintained annually by Marque 21 by the previous owner. The car has had work carried out on the engine over the years and the previous owner spent nearly £15k with Marque 21 over 6 years. When I was tracking down SH, I rang them up and they were very helpful.
I realise this does not answer your question, as the S2 is not an air cooled car, but I can only assume someone spending that amount of money was pleased with the service and quality of their work.
I hope this helps.
Cheers.
Gordon

I did my own top end but without Tim and Danny at Marque 21 it would have been a different story .Their knowledge is the best you can find anywhere, that's why people come from all over theUK

I purchased my '89 3.2 from Canford Classics and they still service it for me. I would recommend a chat with Alan about your requirements and get an estimate ( both time and money!) as they always seem to be pretty busy.
