Porsche inspection Aberdeen

Hello,

I'm a member from down south looking to buy a cayman.

I've found one that ticks all my boxes in Aberdeenshire and I would please like a recommendation for an independent inspection to check over the car before I travel the length of the country! The location is near HRN tractors, AB52 6XF.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

regards
Robert

Not sure off Independents in that area maybe some of the R2 members can point you in the right direction .There is always the official Porsche centre . A recommend would be SP Autobahn in Stirling (07973 385 463 ) he does all the inspections for Peter Morgan the well knows specialist in all things Porsche

Robert,

I can`t help with the inspection but if you require assistance with local transportation / arrangements ... drop me a PM.

Robert,

Being in the local OPC today I made enquiries, they will conduct an inspection similar to / same as the 111 point warranty check. Cost depends on model and age but from ~ £300.

A recommended Independent is http://bavariaautowerke.co.uk/, of which I have no personal experience.

Thanks all; I've dropped those suggested independents a request to see if they can help.

I'm only hesitant of the Porsche 111 point inspection as it more of a pass/fail than a conditio report.

R - I appreciate the offer of local help also !

As an update I've done a little research based on the suggestions
- SP Autobahn is great but it would be a 6/7 hour round trip plus the inspection for them to inspect the car which obviously makes the cost a bit prohibitive (and not good use of their time to be fair!)
- bavariaautowerke were happy to do the inspection and were only 30 mins away, however they were not sure if they could read over-revs which is something i wanted to check
- AA won't touch Porsche or performance cars for pre-purchase inspections apparently so that was a non starter

so now i'm waiting for the OPC to call me back as they were too busy earlier... not easy this!

On a similar theme, any suggestions for MOTs? Want the car looked-after and driven appropriately (actually, driven carefully may be a better description!)
Cheers,
Don

Don, I use Aberdeen OPC quite often and just wait, although this can take up to 2 hours but Wi-Fi and coffee usually on hand.
Outside Aberdeen I've used East Mains Garage beside at Drum, drop off the car then walk to Drum garden centre for coffee/something to eat/nosey, always been very good.
A bit further afield Station Garage Kintore also very good, they're well used to sportier cars too.

Having had a 111 point check carried out by a Porsche centre on a 911 I was looking to purchase, The report was not pass of fail but reasonably detailed and costs estimated relative to issues that would be require to be resolved for it to be accepted on to their extended warranty programme. There may also be a club discount for PCGB members, so perhaps worth asking..?
Hope this helps
