currently trying to restore my 1979 911 sc targa to original condition. got it last year and found that the interior belongs to a 993 model (front and rear seats), door cards not sure of year? but they look correct for 1979 but are grey leather same as the carpet and the seats.

so i bought some sport seats off ebay listed for Porsche 930 model, which i believed to be the correct ones for my model year. but later found out that they are for the 1980-83 model year 911 sport seats and were also used on other Porsche sport/turbo models. these are currently being professionally restored at the moment in their original black leather.

the Porsche certificate for my car states the interior is black leatherette with beige tartan inlays with sport seats as an option. the idea is to get the car as close to its original state as i possibly can. ditching the black leatherette for black leather.

does any one have these sport seats (1974-80) they want to sell or swap? they were used on the 930 turbo model or as an optional extra, as were the case on my car.

please see picture of the correct seats that im looking for. the ones i just picked up are for the later model look the same to me but have a turning adjusting wheel rather than a lever as on the earlier models.

They must have changed the levers to wheels late in 1980, is that correct? My May 1981 SC Targa has wheels on the seats.

i got the date info from this link that John shared with me earlier: http://www.southbound.plus.com/southbound/files/Trade%20Pricelist%202016.pdf

comparing the two types of sport seats together they do look very similar but are noticeably different. not sure which ones weigh the most? probably the earlier ones? i think its as close as im going to get to original unless i can source a pair of the early ones
