Bonnet Badge

Have just got my badge panel back from paint. My old bonnet badge is in generally good order but the gold is somewhat faded. It would be a shame to put it on the new paint. I can't see a way to effectively recolour the gold. Before I ask for OPC price does anyone have one going spare? Any good aftermarket options?

I got a new bonnet badge from porscheshop.co.uk when I had my 968 resprayed, couldn't put the old faded badge back on!

I believe even the Porsche new ones will be a different colour from your worn one, given the age of the car [;)]

True Genuine Porsche Bonnet badge is 90155921026 about £70 + from Porsche OPC

Any other number on the back and its not Genuine

Gasket is about a fiver, dont go on ebay for either, gaskets at £12 are a pi$$ take!

I already have all the genuine gaskets on order for the badge and door mirrors from Leicester OPC. 4 or 5 quid each and guaranteed to fit not like fleabay rubbish. Didn't realise how faded my old badge was until I put against the new paint today. Looked a bit sorry for itself. Oh well guess I had better get a badge quoted as well when I speak to them tomorrow.

Rob I might have our old badge off the race car - think it's in my garage somewhere, I can dig out tonight and send a photo - but obviously is still second hand! Just maybe less worn....

I read somewhere that the current batch OPC are selling weren't the best, can't remember details. I don't think you have many options though tbh. When I had my nose panel painted I got a mint 2nd hand one from Porsche-a-part for about £20. It was practically brand new. I put my old faded one on fleabay and it sold for £20!

Got one coming in from OPC Leicester. £85 all in but they are usually good at doing something with the price. Let's see what the quality is like then.

Type911 is right.

This may be useful too:

Thanks mate. I checked the part numbers with PET and OPC yesterday and 901 559 210 26 is the superceded part number for 901 559 210 20.

I can confirm the "current" (as of 2 years ago) genuine badges are junk. I've had two and the red and black plastic inserts have fallen out of both. Porsche replaced the first under warranty and I couldn't be bothered to do anything about the second.

You could have gone full on lightweight and used a sticker. :ROFLMAO:

I have. The one off a GT2. Was about £2.20 from OPC or about £7.50 from eBay 😂

The recent badges from Porsche that would drop the enamel bars out after about 6 months ended 20 (so my post above is slightly incorrect as a badge ending 20 or 26 is a true Genuine Porsche part)

Porsche recalled and changed production about a year ago to improve the quality, which it seems to have done, these end 26
