Unacceptable situation

Hi everyone, I’m hoping somebody may be able to help or guide me in the right direction. The high pressure fuel pump on my 981 Boxster has broken, the car has only done 36,000 miles, however the car is 10 years old. Apparently there is no stock anywhere in the UK of these pumps, and Porsche themselves cannot give me an answer as to when they will be available. I’ve heard Porsche are aware of the fuel pump problem and are currently sourcing a new manufacturer and supplier, so until the new supplier has been signed off there is no date in site of availability.
So currently my car which is my daily driver is just a heavy paperweight. It’s been sat there for the last three weeks with no end in sight as to when I will be able to drive it again and I’m getting no help or information from anyone!
I’m looking at finding a second hand one but with no joy, as you can imagine, it’s quite frustrating, the knock on affect is quite significant having to find alternative transport to and from work, not being able to get to the supermarket to do shopping etc, etc!
 

If it’s any help to people waiting for a high pressure fuel pump (part # 9A111031507)
I’ve just had a call from my OPC @ Tewkesbury to say that at last they have a pump for me [:)][:)][:)]
That’s just 8 weeks after I placed an order and parted with £592.56.
 
Same situation myself on my 997.2.

Ordered a new pump weeks ago and just got a message today to say it has arrived. So its off to my local
OPC next week to get fitted.


Anyone know what the labour cost is for fitting?
 
Good to hear that a few of the parts that have been unavailable are now getting through.
