June Events

We have a busy few weeks of events coming up in our Region.  Please check individual venue websites for further information.

Sunday 4th June - There are two opportunities for a Cars & Coffee Meet-up

Charity Farm, Wrightington. From 8.30
With all the dry weather we should be on the large grassed area, which will accommodate over 100 cars, with the overflow onto the ample hard standing. Good variety of sports and classic cars always present.  Porsche is the largest marque. Excellent breakfasts available in the café.

Supercar Sunday – Mitton Hall Hotel, Near Whalley
These events used to be regular until they got too large. You will need to be there by 8.00 for a chance to get on the car park. Parking space is dependent on what event was running on the Saturday evening (e.g. a wedding) and how many people stayed over. They will of course want to leave after breakfast. Parking space can be tight. There may be the opportunity to park down the road at a pub. (Aspinall Arms I think.) Bacon barms available. Police can be active in the area, as a few attendees are known to show off.
As it is the 75th Anniversary of Porsche our local dealers are running some events.

Thursday 8th June – Porsche Centre Preston – Evening – Ticket only event.

Friday/Saturday 9th/10th June – Porsche Centre South Lakes event.

Saturday 10th June –Porsche Centre Bolton – Display of 75 Porsches of varied models at Media City Manchester. Ticket only to display but there is parking available across the quay at Quayside – Media City which has restaurants, bars and retail outlets.
11th June – Deadline for booking for the Wheels up North Car Show at Crooklands Show ground, M6 Junct 36, near Kendal. R22 and R18 will have a display area next to Porsche Centre South Lakes. Places on our display are limited so please book by 11th June.  If you have any questions and want to book please e-mail me at or please contact Mike Trotter – Regional Organiser R22 at direct and we can forward you details of how to book.
Sunday 11th June – Supercar Showtime – Houghton Towers. We have a display area fully booked, next to Porsche Centre Bolton, who are one of the event sponsors, which to is to raise funds for Derian House Childrens Hospice, Chorley.  Ample public parking is available.
Thursday 15th June – Cars & Coffee – Bridge House Farm Tea Rooms, Wray. This is an extremely popular car meet. For those that have never been. The gates open at 14.00 and close at dusk.  We have about 100 cars of all makes attending.  Many of those that arrive early may then go off on a run about 18.00. You really need to arrive about 17.00 to get on the main field to park. There was an area just for Porsche reserved and we should get this again.

Excellent food is available, either burgers or a hog roast, under a large marquee. The café is also open for drinks and cakes.
Saturday 17th June – Classic Porsche Vehicle Checks at Porsche Centre, Preston. If you want one of these please let me know as we have limited availability, and these must be pre-booked. It is restricted to Classic Porsche models including 986, 987, 996 and 997 only. Other dates TBA.

21st June – Monthly Meeting – Garstang GC. “Origin of the Species”. Presentation by John Lilles on the Porsche 356.
Sunday 2nd July – Jasmine Porschalink Breakfast Meeting (8.30) I would appreciate it if anyone could organise a short (25-30 Miles) drive from Jasmine to a lunch or bar snack venue. Please e-mail if you would be willing
