2016 Panamera 4S Diesel: Euro 6 compliant ?

Hi all,

I am looking at buying a Gen 2 Panamera 4S Diesel. I understood this model had a Euro 6 compliant engine but the online checkers show that the car is subject to ULEZ.

On the Government’s vehicle enquiry service, it shows Euro Status as "not available”.

Does anyone know if this is just a case of updating the DVLA database ? Or was the Gen2 4.0D not Euro6 compliant ?

thanks in advance for any feedback.

Drivers of diesel-powered cars escape the ULEZ charge if the engine complies with the Euro 6 vehicle emission rules which came into force in September 2015. As your car is a 2016 model, the engine will almost certainly be be compliant.

That said, it is correct that the only definitive way of checking a particular vehicle is via the online checking tools. The Government’s Joint Air Quality Unit have an online vehicle checker to help drivers prepare for Clean Air Zones. Just enter your vehicle’s registration number and this will tell you if there will be a daily charge to drive your vehicle in a specific Clean Air Zone.

To check whether you’ll be charged for driving in the London ULEZ or LEZ, use the TfL vehicle checker instead.

If your car is showing "not available" and you need a definitive answer, then you should speak to your local OPC who should be able to access the records for your particular car. It does leave open however the question of the lack of an entry for your car in the Tfl vehicle checker database as I suspect the last thing you want is being potentially continually flagged for non compliance if your registration is not being recognised when entering the ULEZ. In this instance its probably better to contact Tfl in advance to get your number updated.

Many thanks! Sadly I was gazumped, the seller sold the car to someone else despite having agreed a deal the night before.

the search will continue! :)
