Cayenne Transfer Case - Refused Replacement Under Warranty

Hi all.
I have a 2017 Cayenne Turbo which I purchased in August 2021 from a none main dealer. I took it to my local Porsche dealer (Porsche Bolton) two weeks ago who confirmed that it required a new transfer case. The car was picked up yesterday. The dealer has just called to let me know that Porsche have knocked back the warranty claim due to the car having 22" alloys, fitted by others before I bought the car.
I have been advised that the only route I now have is to ask for a Good Will Contribution from Porsche GB.
My questions are;
  • Has anyone else had a warranty claim knocked back due to having 22" wheels fitted?
  • How have others approached the subject of a 'Good Will' contribution from Porsche for this or any other item and hopw successful have these approaches been?
The garage I bought from will not entertain the issue.
Thank you in advance.
Ian

I can't answer either of your questions - but surely, if they sold you a warranty, they did the usual 111 point inspection and failed to spot the 22" wheels. I guess they might ask for some proof they are not a recent addition but assuming you have some photos or some other evidence I think they will need to have a good explanation for the purpose of their inspection.

I have been refused the TC issue on my 958.2 S (2016) being sorted even with oem wheel / tyre combo, and the goodwill gesture amounted to a sun total of £500 of the £2100 quote…
it’s still with them and I’m considering what the next steps will be to try to persuade them to increase the goodwill - given the issue is a known issue and in many markets it is an automatic extended warranty fault.
