Porsche has just unveiled a new model at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week. Badged as 911 Dakar, Porsche say it is a very special variant of the iconic 911. It will be the first two-door sports car to offer outstanding off-road capabilities.
The model name is a nod to the first overall victory by Porsche in the Paris-Dakar rally. The breakthrough triumph came in 1984 in a modified Porsche 911 – which had been fitted with an all-wheel-drive system for the first time.
The new model is based on the 992 Carrera 4 GTS and has a limited build of just 2.5k units worldwide. It will retail in UK for something in excess of £170k - so more than a Turbo S - and you can spec a Rothmans style rally design pack to imitate the Paris-Dakar version for only another £18k.
There's plenty more info on YouTube including this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LGQAPyTpvQ
It's on sale now!

Clive
