Clay Pigeon Shoot Sunday 5th Feb

Some of you may remember a few years ago a group of us had great fun one cold and damp Sunday morning clay pigeon shooting. As that event seemed to go down very well, I wondered if anyone else fancied trying their hand at it. At the minute I’m only trying to gauge if anyone other than myself would be interested and not actually firmed up anything.

Having ran this past Philip and Jacquie, I've made tentative enquiries with The North East Outdoor Pursuits Centre near Tow Law DL13 4NN, I can tell you they would be more than happy to accommodate our group, sometime from mid-January onwards, so I thought other than the Post-Christmas Party what better way to kick start the new season than quite literally with a bang.

I have been offered 2 different clay pigeon shooting packages - a 25 shot package, which includes equipment hire (of course), tuition and 25 cartridges for £40, and a 50 shot package for £60 per person. The team will take you step-by-step through practice shots and then you’ll compete for a chance to win one of their glamorous gold, silver or bronze trophies.

I am told depending on numbers, the session will probably last somewhere around 2 hours so this may also offer an opportunity to meet for breakfast first or perhaps enjoy a spot of lunch after, again depending on interest. Once the numbers are confirmed we will be required to pay a £15.00 deposit to book a spot and your balance will need to be paid in cash on the day, as they tell me they don’t have a card machine on site.

Of course, other members may have contacts or past experience of different venues. This was a tentative enquiry so I'm open to other suggestions.

Please add your name to this thread if this event is of any interest, you can also find out more about The North East Outdoor Pursuits Centre here.
