Hi
thanks for taking the time to read my post. Does anyone have any experience on how much a pdk gearbox replacement would be on a 997.2 Carrera S. 2008 car model year 2009. Im looking at purchasing, have had a pre-purchase inspection and the finding is still inconclusive.

Cheers

I had to have a new PDK gearbox fitted on my 2009 997. Fortunately it was covered under the Porsche warranty. But the service adviser told me it would have cost me over £8K if I'd had to pay for it myself - and this was several years ago. I'd keep looking if I were you.
Regards

Matt,

I would think Ellis’s estimate for replacing the PDK unit is much too light. I can’t say for certain but I’ve heard figures of the order £10k - £12k for a replacement by a Porsche dealer.

Unfortunately Porsche consider the PDK transmission a non-service item, requiring a full replacement if there’s an internal fault, either mechanical or electrical.

Unless you can negotiate a significant price reduction I’d agree with Ellis and keep looking for a suitable car.

Jeff
