New 944 Joint Register Secretary

Hi guys, now I’ve signed the official PCGB Secrets Act and promised not to tell you what’s kept in the basement of Cornbury House I can announce that I’m joining Mike Pollock as Joint Register Secretary. By his own admission, Mike doesn’t spend much (if any) time on here so that’s one of my roles along with organising and supporting events as well as helping out members wherever possible - Mike has been referring Turbo-related stuff to me for some time so it made sense to make it more official.

We will both be monitoring the mailbox so feel free to ask any questions of either of us or suggest ways in which the register could be better represented: 944@porscheclubgb.com

Thankyou for volunteering, hope the reward outweighs the pain!

Thanks Tony, the peek behind the curtain has already made me pull a few grimaces at the way the club is currently run but you can’t hope to make effective change from outside.

Congratulations ,Dave -you couldn't join a nicer guy than Mike.Where have they inserted the control chip & was it painful?:ROFLMAO:

I had a top 3 of people whom I thought would post something along those lines and you were in it!

Congratulations David. as a matter of interest I tried to organise a 944 meet at the Prescott 'Porsche Day' earlier this year. Unfortunately, I tried to do it through the official route and it never got off the ground! The 924 drivers club managed to get about 18/20 cars there with reserved parking, including some disillusioned? 944 owners.

Hopefully we might have more success next year

This is exactly the sort of thing we should be doing as a register, flag it to me a suitable time ahead of the event next year and I’ll converse with Mike and the powers that be to make sure we can do something.

Good on you. Hope to have mine back on the road in the next week or two. Body shop finally got the screen sorted and in this week (OPC sent the wrong screen), awaiting the front end build up now.

I plan on going to Le Mans in mine next year - could be good to see if there's any other takers for a 944 corner?

Well thanks for stepping up David. Look forward to meeting you. As soon as I've fixed that recurrent water leak on the water pump elbow. Grrr!
