GT4 Navigation issues

Hi,

I've just come back from a road trip to France / Italy.
Whilst in Chamonix, the NAV was totally unusable.
When selecting a route, the blue line appears on the roads, but the Arrow showing the cars position was going all over the place, resulting in very confusing commands from the NAV. I ended up following my mate who was in his M3 (Nav working fine !).

Whilst in the mountains in Italy no problem at all.

Anyone experienced anything similar ?

Hi SC

Which system do you have / how old is it?

From your description of the problem it is not clear to me whether the problem was specific to a small area (Just in Chamonix) or how long this went on for e.g. multiple restarts. If it worked everywhere else and at all other times on your trip, it does seem as if there was some freak aberration in that area. The only time I have experienced anything similar is on a new, unplotted road, when the system is trying to deal with a location it cannot relate to the map.

Hi,

It was only in the area of Chamonix - which is in the shadow of Mont Blanc. I assumed the car could not get view of enough satellites, but my mate's 10 yr old M3 had no problems at all.

Despite my car being less than 2 years old, I use WAZE via Apple CarPlay all the time. So much better, informative and easier to use than the PCM.

Push and hold the volume button on the PCM for at least 10 seconds then let go. You will see the PORSCHE crest appear then the GT4 logo. The system will then reboot.
