PSM puzzle

After 10 years or so running a 2005 Cayenne Turbo I thought I new most of its quirks and foibles but yesterdays has me beaten!
Started it up yesterday to find the time reset to 7:00am and the date to 15/1/2003.
I have no idea why this happened, the time was easily reset, but how the hell do you reset the date, and how come the date was earlier than the car was built?
Any suggestions welcome - this is PCM2 and there's no reference to setting the date in the manual.

One of those annoying gremlins.
Had this on my 2006 Turbo S
Just ignored it in the end

Graham

Thanks Graham - nice to know I'm not alone!
Can't see it impacts on any functionality but it would be nice to know how it happens

The date is set by GPS timing signal

This post suggests various things like leaving outside with ignition on, Set date via PIWIS/PST2 with the car "hidden" from the GPS signal and leaving unlocked for a day or two etc [:-]

Other PCM2 Users on other forums reported that setting a destination in the nav and going for a drive fixed it

Many others like Graham-S just gave up and ignored it
