2004 996 C4S - Rear Spoiler Problem

Rear Spoiler problem. Firstly failed to retract and I traced problem to faulty relay. Replaced relay and all ok. Spoiler operates fine when going. Yesterday checked it went up and down many times so put it in garage thinking I had solved problem. Today problem back again - went up and stayed up so I swopped the relays over again and it goes down but will not go up again unless I swop relays over again. Both relays are operational so there is obviously something loose somewhere - checked wiring but nothing obvious. Disconnected battery whilst I looked at manual switch - reconnected and spoiler operated normally twice then back to sticking up again!! Got me foxed and wondering if micro switches are plying up although it worked perfectly well yesterday!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Neil.

Nothing worse than an intermittent electrical problem. From what you say about relay swapping, I would have thought it points to one of them being faulty. Stupid question, but can you be sure you replaced the right one? Failing that, I would suspect a microswitch, but I believe they are difficult to access (inside the drive mechanism) and not available as separate parts from Porsche, so you would have to find an equivalent.

Thanks for your reply. I have replaced the faulty relay and have swopped them around several times which indicates that they both work. I even returned the new relay from Porsche as I thought it was defective but now I am not so sure! Both relays will operate the spoiler up and down but will not continue normal operation unless I move the relays around again. Yes intermittent elecrical faults are very frustrating!
