Tow bar warning light.

We have the retractable tow bar on our Macan. When we fit our Thule bike rack, even though everything is secure and locked on we still get the warning light. Is there a sensor that is not picking up correctly or am I doing something wrong.

I have found that when you deploy the tow bar from its ‘hidden’ state, I have to hold the rocker switch down for an extra few seconds to ensure its in place, otherwise I get the same message.

This occurred on both a dealer fitted and factory fitted tow bar.

If this doesn’t cure the problem then it has to be the sensor or the bar requires a slight adjustment.

Hope it helps.

We had the same on our previous Cayenne and also a Macan.. solved as above.

on the Panamara it seemed to be a reminder that we needed to adjust the cars ride height. So car was level when the trailer was fitted on.

Same here, this seems to be the solution.
