USB/SDCard

After many years of faithful service my old ipod has died and am looking for an alternative medium to use for music in my 67 plate Macan.

Does anyone know the criteria for using an SDCard or USB memory stick? Maximum size? Format? Which USB socket to use? - am aware of the 10000 track limit but I keep trying different sizes with different formats and keep getting an error that the media is not recognised.

Thanks

I have my entire music collection on two 64GB SD Cards in my 2017MY Macan

If I recall correctly the car can't read 128GB files. I think they are FAT32

On each I've made folders alphabetical folders eg A, B etc and copied all the artists starting with A into the A folder from Apple Music directory etc. 1365 albums and 108GB of music

I have my entire digital music collection 105GB on a USB stick. There is a folder for each artist and then sub folders for each album

Incidentally the Good to know app in technical details mentions limit on size of SD cards butno limit mention for USB sticks

Thanks - will try a reformat as exFAT certainly does not work.

Tried local OPC - "there is certainly a 10000 track limit but other limits might apply" - useful.
